Connecting People
Sponsorship project for unaccompanied refugee minors

Young refugees who were forced to leave their home countries because of war and persecution have to contend with multiple problems in Austria: loss of their family, traumatic experiences in their home country, long periods of unexplained resident status, forced inactivity, unknown living environment in Austria. Connecting People is trying to provide emotional support to those young people. By building a stable relationship between the godmother / godfather and a young refugee, security, guidance and support can be offered to the young person.

Eltern.leben.Vielfalt
Diversity in parental education. A pilot project in the areas of Graz, Feldbach and Kapfenberg.
Extended to Knittelfeld and Leibnitz.

The aim of the project is to enable parents to use offers in parents' education, especially those who couldn't use such offers so far. The project is for different groups like parents with migration backgrounds, socially disadvantaged parents or single parents and has a a special focus on diversity.




Good Practice in Torture Care

Good Practice in Torture Care
European evaluation project for working with torture victims

The development of European standards in areas of documentation, training, prevention and lobbying in working with torture victims are major objectives of this transnational project. At European level, good practice approaches in working with refugees and torture victims are formulated and developed and institutions working in this area are evaluated. The project is funded by the European Refugee Fund.

Learning Community
Immigrants as facilitators empower Immigrants for Lifelong Learning

The main objective of Learning Community is to improve the utilization of opportunities of lifelong learning for people with immigrant backgrounds and to remove barriers. The Project develops an innovative consulting approach that aims to strengthen the empowerment of Immigrants and to develop tailor-made offers and materials for adult learners. During the project Immigrants will be trained to act as educational facilitators/ambassadors. These multipliers help members of Immigrant communities to utilize offers of lifelong learning.

Developement of an European network for integration

Integration of immigrants is one of the European countries priorities. Understanding and monitoring the diversity that lies under migrants integration trends is a challenge that all different stakeholders and actors should be able to face. The main idea of the partnership is to develop a network of stakeholders, associations, local authorities, educational institutions, employers, local communities, and immigrants themselves to improve and promote full integration of migrants in foreign countries.

Project Welcome
Support project for unaccompanied refugee minors

The WELCOME project is a supply and maintenance project for unaccompanied refugee minors in Styria. The "Franziskushaus" (St. Francis House) in Graz, which is run by Caritas, serves as the base. The project, which is divided into two areas (first accommodation and follow-up care), is done in cooperation with Caritas Graz (project management) and OMEGA.
